PMLD Teacher – Specialist SEND School\n Location: Barking and Dagenham, East London\n Key Stage: KS1 – KS4\n Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm\n Contract: Full-time\n Pay Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)\n\nWe are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teacher to work in a specialist SEND school based in Barking and Dagenham. \n\nThis role involves teaching pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex physical disabilities, and medical needs. Pupils require highly individualized teaching, sensory-based learning opportunities, and significant adult support to access learning, communication, and daily living activities.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPlanning and delivering engaging, personalized lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD\nCreating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes communication, engagement, and independence\nWorking collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals to support pupil development\nLeading and coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to meeting pupils' educational, physical, communication, and personal care needs\nMonitoring and assessing progress against EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets\nUsing a range of communication approaches, including AAC, sensory strategies, and intensive interaction\nContributing to annual reviews, reports, and professional meetingsEssential Requirements:\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification\nExperience teaching pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex SEND needs\nStrong understanding of sensory curriculum approaches and personalized learning\nExperience working within a specialist SEND setting\nKnowledge of safeguarding, behavior support, and supporting pupils with complex medical and physical needs\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\nA patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teachingThis is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting and make a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils across KS1–KS4 with complex needs.\n\nWe have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days.
